A Word from PJ

Being Salt and Light

Scripture:

“You are the salt of the earth…You are the light of the world.” – Matthew 5:13-14

Reflection:

As believers, Jesus calls us to be salt and light in the world. Salt preserves and enhances flavor, while light dispels darkness. These metaphors remind us of our responsibility to influence the world for Christ, pointing others to His love and truth.

Being salt means living in a way that preserves God’s truth and adds value to the lives of others. Being light means shining brightly in dark places, sharing the hope of the gospel through our words and actions. Both require intentionality, courage, and reliance on God’s strength.

When we live as salt and light, we glorify God and invite others to experience His love and grace.

Challenge:

Identify one way you can be salt and light in your community this week. Whether it’s through a kind word, a helpful act, or sharing your faith, take a step to influence others for Christ.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for calling me to be salt and light in the world. Help me to live in a way that reflects Your love and truth. Teach me to influence others for Your glory and to shine brightly for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Love you,

PJ
