A Word from PJ
Scripture: Galatians 6:4-5
"Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load." (NIV)
In a world where we’re often tempted to compare ourselves with others, Paul’s words in Galatians remind us to focus on our own spiritual journey. It’s easy to look at someone else’s success or struggles and either feel superior or discouraged. But God doesn’t judge us by the lives of others; He looks at our individual obedience, faith, and growth.
We are called to “test” our own actions, meaning we should reflect on our hearts, attitudes, and behaviors in light of God’s Word. This self-examination helps us recognize where we need to grow and also where God has helped us make progress. Taking pride in our growth isn’t about boasting but about acknowledging the work God is doing in our lives.
Carrying our own load means taking responsibility for our walk with Christ. While we can help others and seek help ourselves, no one can live out our faith for us. We are accountable to God for the choices we make and the steps we take toward spiritual maturity.
Love you,
PJ
