Overcoming strongholds is extremely difficult. So much so that God gave His Followers the gift of the Holy Spirit because He knew it would be impossible for us to do alone. We have a sin nature that we can’t get rid of, but with the help of God and His Word we can overcome it. The fact is that we will never be rid of the sinful desires of this world. As Christians, we do however have the ability to live a lifestyle of holiness unto the Lord. That ability only comes from a surrendered life to the Lord. Don’t make the devastating mistake of thinking you can continually put yourself in situations that could cause you to compromise your walk with God. When you put yourself in those situations you will give in to compromise eventually. We are to remove ourselves from anything that could be a stumbling block for us or others.
