A Word from PJ

Controlling Your Thoughts

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

2 Corinthians 10:5

Our minds are powerful, and what we think shapes who we become. The Bible teaches us to be vigilant over our thoughts because they directly influence our emotions, actions, and spiritual well being. In 2 Corinthians 10:5, Paul encourages believers to take control of their thoughts, bringing them into obedience to Christ. This means that we must be intentional about what we allow to occupy our minds, rejecting thoughts that lead us away from God’s truth.

The world and the enemy often try to plant seeds of doubt, fear, anger, or lust. But as Christians, we are called to filter our thoughts through the lens of God’s Word. Philippians 4:8 tells us to focus on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. When we do this, we align our minds with God’s perspective and experience His peace.

If you find your thoughts spiraling into negativity or temptation, take them captive by turning to Scripture, prayer, and praise. Remind yourself of God’s promises and His control over your life. With His help, you can control your thoughts and live in victory.

Lord, help me take control of my thoughts and make them obedient to Christ. May my mind be filled with Your truth, and may I focus on what is pure and pleasing to You. Amen.

Love you,

PJ
