A Word from PJ

“I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to live in harmony in the Lord. Indeed, true companion, I ask you also to help these women who have shared my struggle in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement also and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:2-3‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

In these verses Paul is very concerned with how Christians handle disputes. Paul is specifically concerned with two ladies that apparently had a major disagreement that was a disruption to the work of the Lord.

As Christians, we all have disagreements at times. Usually they are things that are trivial and make no eternal difference. The problem is when we allow silly things to drive a wedge between the body of Christ, then His work on this earth suffers.

I’m not telling you that you aren’t to stand firm against sin or heresy. We are however not to make a public display of our disputes. When we get so agitated with others that we make our displeasure a public display then we see the cause of Christ suffer. Christians are to further the Gospel of Christ, not hinder it. Paul asked other Christians to help these two women settle their dispute and rejoice in the Lord together.

We really need to put this into practice in our day. We are seeing far too many people hurting the work of Christ with silly arguments, especially on social media. Let’s grow up in Jesus and get it together folks.

Love you,

PJ
