A Word from PJ
Do Not Be Intimidated
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
In life, there are countless moments when we face intimidating situations—whether it’s a challenge at work, a strained relationship, or an uncertain future. The world can often seem like a daunting place, filled with obstacles that threaten to overshadow our faith. Yet, God’s Word gives us clear assurance that we need not be intimidated by anything or anyone.
Isaiah 41:10 is a powerful reminder that we are never alone in our battles. God’s promise to Israel echoes into our lives today: “Do not fear, for I am with you.” It is not a conditional statement; it’s a declaration of His steadfast presence.
When fear starts to creep in and intimidate us, this verse encourages us to pause and remember who walks beside us. Our strength does not come from our own capabilities but from a God who holds us up with His righteous right hand.
The apostle Paul also spoke about this when he wrote to Timothy, saying, “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7). Fear seeks to paralyze, but God’s Spirit empowers. When we rest in His promises and lean into His strength, we find the courage to stand firm and move forward.
How, then, do we overcome intimidation? It begins with shifting our focus from the size of our problems to the greatness of our God. As Christians, we need to trust that God’s strength and provision will meet us in every trial. Instead of allowing fear to shape our actions, let faith be the lens through which we view our challenges.
Take a moment today to identify areas in your life where intimidation has taken root. Bring these to the Lord in prayer and invite Him to fill you with His peace and courage. Remember, intimidation loses its power when we recognize that the Creator of the universe fights for us.
Are there situations where you feel intimidated or fearful? How can you remind yourself of God’s presence and promises when these feelings arise?
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unwavering presence in my life. Help me to remember that You are greater than any challenge I face. Fill me with Your peace and courage when I am tempted to fear. Let my heart be confident in Your promises, knowing that You will strengthen and uphold me. I surrender all my worries to You and trust in Your righteous right hand. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Love you,
PJ
