Embracing Godly Confidence

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” — Psalm 139:14

As Christians, we often hear about the dangers of pride, but there’s a difference between arrogance and taking godly pride in who you are. God created each of us uniquely, crafting us with care and intention. Taking pride in yourself doesn’t mean boasting in your own strength but rather acknowledging the masterpiece God created in you.

The world may measure worth by achievements, appearance, or wealth, but our identity is rooted in Christ. When you see yourself as God sees you valuable, loved, and purposeful you reflect His glory. It’s not about elevating yourself above others but standing confidently in your God-given identity.

Taking pride in yourself is about stewarding the gifts God has given you. Whether it’s developing your talents, maintaining your health, or using your abilities to serve others, it’s an act of worship. Neglecting these gifts or belittling yourself doesn’t honor God. He desires for you to walk boldly in His purpose for your life.

When we take godly pride in ourselves, we can inspire others to do the same. By living as a reflection of God’s love and creativity, we point people to Him. Remember, humility isn’t thinking less of yourself; it’s thinking of yourself less while celebrating the One who made you.

• Do you struggle to see yourself as God’s masterpiece?

• How can you develop a healthy sense of pride in the person God created you to be?

• What steps can you take to steward your talents and gifts more effectively?

Heavenly Father, thank You for creating me in Your image and for the unique gifts You’ve placed in my life. Help me to see myself through Your eyes and to walk confidently in the identity You’ve given me. Teach me to honor You in how I use my talents, care for my body, and treat myself and others. May my life reflect Your glory and inspire others to embrace the masterpiece You’ve created in them. In Jesus name, Amen.

This week, write down three things you appreciate about yourself qualities, talents, or ways you reflect God’s goodness. Thank God for these gifts, and look for ways to use them to bless others.

Love you,

PJ
