Feeling Abandoned

Psalm 27:10 (NIV)"Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me."

There are moments in life when the crushing weight of loneliness can overwhelm us. We may feel abandoned by friends, family, or even misunderstood by those closest to us. The feeling of being forsaken is not new; many in the Bible experienced similar emotions. King David, despite being chosen by God, knew the sting of isolation and betrayal. Yet, in the depth of his despair, David anchored himself in the truth that God would never leave him.

Psalm 27:10 is a reminder of God’s unwavering faithfulness. Even when the people we trust the most let us down, God’s love is steadfast. When life’s storms make you feel alone, remember that your Heavenly Father’s arms are wide open, ready to embrace you with His comfort.

Reflect on this truth today: God’s presence is not contingent on the approval or actions of others. He sees you, knows your pain, and is always near. The Lord promises to receive us when all else fails. His commitment is rooted in His character—a love that never wavers.

When have you felt abandoned or alone? How did you respond? Take a moment to release those feelings to God, trusting that He holds you tightly.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your constant love and faithfulness. When I feel abandoned or overlooked, remind me that You are always near, holding me close. Help me to rest in Your promise that You will never leave nor forsake me. Amen.

Love you,

PJ
