Finding Strength in Weakness

Scripture:

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

Reflection:

In a world that values strength, independence, and self-sufficiency, the idea of embracing weakness can feel counterintuitive. Yet, 2 Corinthians 12:9 reveals a profound truth: our weaknesses are the very places where God’s power shines brightest.

Paul, who wrote these words, pleaded with God to remove a “thorn in his flesh.” Instead of granting his request, God assured him that His grace was sufficient. Through this, Paul learned to embrace his limitations, knowing they allowed God’s strength to be magnified.

Our weaknesses draw us closer to God. When we acknowledge that we cannot do it all on our own, we become more dependent on His strength. This dependence deepens our faith and transforms our challenges into testimonies of His power and grace.

Challenge:

Identify an area where you feel weak or inadequate. Instead of focusing on your limitations, bring this area to God in prayer and ask Him to use it for His glory.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the reminder that Your grace is sufficient for me. Help me to embrace my weaknesses, trusting that Your power is made perfect in them. Teach me to rely on You fully and to see Your strength at work in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Love you,

PJ
