A Word from PJ

“He Got Up”

Scripture:

“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay.” — Matthew 28:6 (NIV)

Everything changed on that Sunday.

It wasn’t just the ending of Holy Week. It was the beginning of a new covenant, a new reality, and a new hope. Friday left the world in silence. Saturday held its breath. But Sunday roared with resurrection power.

The tomb was supposed to be the final chapter. The stone was heavy, the seal official, and the guards stationed. Death had done what it always did it closed the curtain. But this time, Jesus rewrote the script.

He got up.

Not limping. Not barely breathing. But victorious. Triumphant. Radiating with the same glory He had before the world began. He didn’t sneak out of the tomb He walked out in power.

And when He got up, everything that had ever held us down lost its grip.

Shame? Defeated.

Sin? Washed clean.

Death? Declawed.

Hell? Plundered.

The grave? Just a rest stop now.

This isn’t just a story we retell once a year it’s the very core of who we are as believers. The resurrection isn’t a one time miracle; it’s a lifestyle. It’s a declaration that no matter what life throws at us, we are not finished.

Because He got up, so can you.

You can rise from the ashes of your mistakes.

You can get back up from betrayal, addiction, depression, or divorce.

You can live again. Hope again. Dream again.

The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is living in you. That means your Sunday is coming. That means what feels like a sealed tomb today may be the platform for your testimony tomorrow.

Don’t stop at the cross.

Don’t get stuck in Saturday.

Live in the power of Sunday.

Reflection:

Where in your life do you need resurrection? What situation have you buried under the weight of “never”? Take a moment and declare over it: “If Jesus got up, so can I.”

Prayer:

Risen Savior, thank You for the empty tomb. Thank You for showing us that death isn’t the end and that hope always has the final word. Help me live with resurrection boldness, to stand back up when I fall, and to walk in the victory You already won. Let my life echo the anthem of Easter: He got up, so I will too. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Love you,

PJ
