A Word from PJ
“I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.”
Psalms 9:1
Have you ever noticed those street preachers that stand on the street corner and yell at passing cars? Pounding their Bibles and yelling at the top of their lungs “TURN OR BURN!”. Well I’m here to tell you that type of evangelism doesn’t work too well. Now I didn’t say it doesn’t work at all, I just said not too well. Just imagine someone drives by that just got fired from a job or just had their spouse leave them. They drive by at 55mph and as they pass the street preacher they hear “YOU DESERVE HELL!” and because of their speed they don’t hear the redemptive part of the sermon. What kind of message did the street preacher get across to that motorist? The answer is not one of hope and healing, that’s for sure. The motorist was in need of hope because of their situation and all they heard was a message of doom and gloom. We need to be very careful to always be telling of the wonderful love, hope, peace, and healing Christ gives. People in the midst of hell need hope speech not hate. So let’s be careful to love with our words and in deed.
Love you all,
PJ
