A Word from PJ
"Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well."
3 John 2 (NIV)
In this short verse, we see the heart of John, the apostle, as he writes to a beloved friend. His prayer is twofold: that his friend would prosper in health and circumstances, but also in spiritual well-being. It’s a reminder that God cares about every aspect of our lives—our physical health, our material needs, and especially the condition of our soul.
As Christians, it's easy to focus on one area while neglecting the others. We might prioritize spiritual growth while neglecting our physical health, or chase after worldly success and neglect our relationship with God. However, John’s prayer reflects a balanced life—one where spiritual vitality, physical health, and external circumstances work in harmony under God's blessing.
Today, take a moment to reflect on how your soul is "getting along." Are you growing closer to God? Are you nurturing your relationship with Him through prayer, Scripture, and obedience? And, just as importantly, are you trusting Him to guide your health and well-being?
Let’s remember that true prosperity starts from within, in the health of our soul. As we seek God first, He is faithful to care for every other part of our lives.
Love you,
PJ
