A Word from PJ
Joy in the Lord
Scripture:
“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” – Nehemiah 8:10
Reflection:
Joy is more than a fleeting emotion; it’s a deep-rooted confidence in God’s goodness and faithfulness, regardless of our circumstances. Nehemiah 8:10 reminds us that the joy of the Lord is our strength a source of resilience and hope that sustains us through life’s challenges.
Biblical joy is not dependent on external circumstances but flows from our relationship with God. Paul, who endured imprisonment and suffering, wrote about rejoicing in the Lord always (Philippians 4:4). His joy came from knowing Christ and trusting in God’s promises, even in the midst of trials.
When we choose joy, we proclaim that our hope is in God and not in the temporary things of this world. This joy not only strengthens us but also serves as a powerful testimony to those around us.
Challenge:
Identify three specific blessings in your life that bring you joy. Spend time thanking God for these blessings and reflecting on how His goodness strengthens you.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the joy that comes from knowing You. Help me to focus on Your goodness and faithfulness, even when life is challenging. Fill my heart with joy that overflows and strengthens me each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Love you,
PJ
