Making Memories that Last
“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” – Psalm 90:12
Life is fleeting, like a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes (James 4:14). As Christians, we are reminded in Psalm 90:12 to live with purpose, treasuring the moments God gives us. Making memories isn’t just about capturing events with a camera; it’s about investing in relationships, creating moments of joy, and honoring God through our time.
Every memory we make is an opportunity to reflect God’s love to those around us. Whether it’s a family dinner, a heart-to-heart conversation, or serving together in ministry, these moments become treasures in the stories of our lives. When we center these moments on Christ, they have eternal significance.
Think about Jesus’ time on earth. Though He had only 33 years to live and three years of ministry, He made an impact that changed eternity. He spent time with people, shared meals, prayed with them, and showed them God’s love. His example teaches us that it’s not the quantity of our days, but the quality of our moments that matters.
Making memories also means being intentional with the people God has placed in our lives. Instead of rushing through our days, we can choose to be present, to listen, and to love deeply. These moments of connection are where God’s glory shines brightest.
Take time this week to create intentional memories with loved ones. This could mean planning a family game night, reaching out to an old friend, or simply taking a walk with someone you care about. Invite God into these moments and let His presence guide your interactions.
Lord, thank You for the gift of life and the moments that make it beautiful. Teach me to cherish the time You’ve given me and to create memories that glorify You. Help me to invest in relationships, to love deeply, and to leave a legacy of faith and joy for those around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Love you you,
PJ
