“You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.”

Luke 6:36 NLT


When it comes to meeting the needs of others, we should always be compassionate. As Christians, we are called to meet the needs of those that are hurting. Compassion is for those that have a genuine need. Jesus beautifully demonstrated to us all how compassion is supposed to work. When Jesus encounters Zacchaeus who is hated and not welcomed by others, Jesus shows compassion by including him and showing him love. Because of that demonstration of love by Jesus, Zacchaeus’ life is radically saved and changed! This is the kind of true compassion we need to show others. Be kind, loving, welcoming, encouraging, and genuine.
