Renewing Strength in the Wait
Scripture:
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31
Reflection:
Waiting is rarely easy, yet it is a recurring theme in the life of every believer. Isaiah 40:31 reminds us that those who wait on the Lord are not left idle or stagnant they are strengthened. In the process of waiting, God is at work, preparing us for what lies ahead and teaching us to trust in His provision.
Consider the eagle, effortlessly soaring through the sky. Its strength comes not from flapping its wings tirelessly but from allowing the wind to carry it. Similarly, when we wait on the Lord, we are not relying on our strength but on His. It is during these moments that we exchange our weariness for His power, finding the endurance to run the race before us.
Biblical examples abound of individuals who waited on God and experienced His faithfulness. David waited years to become king after being anointed. The Israelites wandered in the wilderness for 40 years before entering the Promised Land. Yet in each instance, God’s timing was perfect, and His plans unfolded beautifully.
In our seasons of waiting, we are invited to trust God’s process and lean into His strength. As we do, we will discover the peace and renewal that only He can provide.
Challenge:
Identify an area in your life where you feel like you are in a waiting season. Instead of focusing on the delay, spend time in prayer, asking God to help you see His purpose in this time. Reflect on how He has carried you in the past, and let it encourage your faith for the present.
Prayer:
Lord, I thank You for being my source of strength, even in times of waiting. Help me to trust Your timing and to lean on You instead of my own understanding. Renew my spirit as I wait, and give me the faith to soar above my circumstances like the eagle. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Love you,
PJ
