The Joy of Serving Others

Scripture:

“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.” – Matthew 20:26

Reflection:

In a world that often measures greatness by status, wealth, or achievements, Jesus offers a different standard: servanthood. True greatness in the kingdom of God is not found in being served but in serving others.

Jesus Himself modeled this when He washed His disciples’ feet a task typically reserved for the lowliest servant. This act of humility demonstrated His love and reminded His followers that serving others is a reflection of God’s heart.

Serving doesn’t always involve grand gestures. It can be as simple as lending a listening ear, cooking a meal for someone in need, or offering words of encouragement. When we serve with love and humility, we glorify God and draw others closer to Him.

Challenge:

Look for an opportunity to serve someone today, whether at home, work, church, or in your community. Reflect on how serving impacts your relationship with God and with others.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the example of Jesus, who came to serve rather than to be served. Teach me to have a servant’s heart and to joyfully serve others as an act of worship to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Love you,

PJ
