The Blessing of Obedience

Scripture:

“Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” – Luke 11:28

Reflection:

Obedience to God is an act of love and trust. It demonstrates our faith in His goodness and our willingness to follow His plans for our lives. Luke 11:28 highlights the blessing that comes from hearing and obeying God’s Word.

Obedience often requires sacrifice and a willingness to step out of our comfort zones. Abraham obeyed God’s call to leave his homeland, trusting in a promise he couldn’t yet see. Mary, the mother of Jesus, said “yes” to God’s plan, even though it disrupted her life. Their obedience brought blessings that extended far beyond themselves.

When we obey God, we align ourselves with His purposes and invite His blessings into our lives. It may not always be easy, but it is always worth it. Obedience is not about perfection; it’s about surrendering our will to His and trusting Him to lead us.

Challenge:

Consider an area where God is calling you to obedience. What steps can you take to follow His lead? Write down one action you can take this week to say “yes” to Him.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the blessing that comes from obedience. Help me to trust You enough to follow Your Word, even when it’s hard. Give me the courage to say “yes” to Your plans and to walk in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Love you,

PJ
