A Word from PJ
Then the Lord opened the donkey’s mouth, and it said to Balaam, “What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?””
Numbers 22:28 NIV
You and I may have never had a donkey speak to us, but we have all had unlikely messengers from God. There have been times that I have been in a situation that I have totally left God out of, and He sends me an unlikely messenger to get me back where I need to be.
Like one day I was having a morning that I thought I was needing. It was a slow day and I just wanted to study for my Sunday message and all of a sudden out of the blue someone shows up at the church with an entire pallet of food for the needy. In my mind I was saying “there is no way I’m taking this food I just want to study”. Then I saw the expression on the face of the man that had brought it. He was so happy that he was being used in a small way to help people. I thanked the man and proceeded to unload the pallet of food and stack it onto my truck. In my mind I was so frustrated, but I knew it was the right thing to do. Still frustrated I drove the truck load of food to a place in a nearby city that feeds the needy daily. When I pulled up to that amazing ministry the first person I saw was a lady that had to be in her 80’s staring at me with the most beautiful and painful eyes I have ever seen. She had so much pain behind those eyes it broke me. I walked right up to her and asked if she needed any food to take home and those eyes that had so much pain in them burst into tears and with all she could muster she said “yes please, I need it so bad”. At that moment I knew God had sent me an unlikely messenger. She reached out to grab the box of food so I thought but she passed the box to hug me. The day I thought was ruined turned into one of the most amazing days I’ve had in a long time.
I tell you this so you will know that God can use the most unlikely situations, people and even in Balaam’s case a donkey to be a messenger.
Love you all,
PJ

Love this! Amen
Beautiful testimony. Glory to God!
I love the unlikely moments that turn into blessings! We must always be open to them. Sometimes it's as easy as striking up a conversation in the waiting room of a doctor. Makes the waiting easier. Complimenting a stranger in a grocery store! That was a wonderful blessing for you, Pastor Jeff, and for the woman in need. God sent you exactly where you needed to be! ,❤️
I love this and is very true, the donkey can represent so much in our lives, our stubborness and arrogance, donkeys are known for their stubborness. I am like that and have tried hard to overcome it. Every now and then it wants to rear its ugly head.
Amen
