The Joy of Giving

Scripture:

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:7

Reflection:

Giving is an act of worship that reflects the heart of God. He is the ultimate giver, providing for our needs and blessing us abundantly. 2 Corinthians 9:7 reminds us that God loves a cheerful giver someone who gives not out of obligation but out of joy and gratitude.

When we give generously, we demonstrate trust in God’s provision. Whether it’s giving our time, resources, or encouragement, generosity allows us to participate in His work and bless others. Jesus praised the widow who gave two small coins, not because of the amount but because of the heart behind her giving.

Giving also deepens our relationship with God. It aligns our priorities with His kingdom and reminds us that everything we have belongs to Him.

Challenge:

Identify one way you can give generously this week whether it’s your time, talents, or resources. Do so with a cheerful heart, trusting God to use your gift for His glory.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for being a generous provider in my life. Teach me to give with joy and to trust in Your provision. Help me to reflect Your love and generosity in the way I serve and bless others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Love you,

PJ
