A Word from PJ

The Power of Speaking Life

Scripture:

“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” – Proverbs 18:21

Reflection:

Our words hold incredible power. Proverbs 18:21 reminds us that our tongues can either build up or tear down, bring life or cause harm. As followers of Christ, we are called to use our words to encourage, uplift, and speak truth in love.

Consider how Jesus spoke during His earthly ministry. He used His words to heal, teach, and restore. His example challenges us to be mindful of what we say and how we say it. Words spoken in anger or carelessness can leave lasting wounds, but words of kindness and affirmation can inspire and heal.

By submitting our speech to God, we allow Him to use our words for His purposes. This requires intentionality, humility, and a heart that seeks to glorify Him in all we do.

Challenge:

Pay attention to your words today. Before speaking, ask yourself whether your words are life-giving or hurtful. Make it a goal to speak encouragement to at least one person each day this week.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the gift of words. Help me to use my speech to honor You and to bring life to others. Teach me to speak with kindness, wisdom, and love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Love you,

PJ
