A Word from PJ

The Silence Between the Storm and the Sunrise

It’s Saturday. The chaos of Friday’s crucifixion has settled, but the sting still lingers. The cross is quiet. The tomb is sealed. Heaven feels silent.

This is the day we don’t talk about much.

We love the celebration of Palm Sunday. We reverently observe Good Friday. And we shout hallelujahs on Resurrection Sunday. But Saturday? Saturday is the space in between a holding pattern of heartbreak, questions, and waiting.

Imagine the disciples. Their whole world had just come crashing down. They’d given up everything to follow Jesus, and now… He’s gone. They didn’t know Sunday was coming. They didn’t have the benefit of hindsight like we do. All they had was silence.

Maybe you’re in a Saturday season yourself.

Maybe the promise hasn’t come yet. The prayer hasn’t been answered. The healing hasn’t arrived. The door hasn’t opened. It feels like Jesus is quiet and the heavens are closed. But hear me just because it’s Saturday doesn’t mean God has stopped working.

The silence of Saturday is not the absence of God. It’s the setup for His greatest work.

In fact, the tomb was not a place of defeat it was the birthing room of a miracle. What looked like the end was actually the beginning of the greatest comeback in history. The stone that sealed the grave wasn’t there to trap hope it was just a temporary door.

Saturday reminds us to trust God in the dark. To believe when we cannot see. To wait with a faith that refuses to let go.

Because even when you can’t feel Him, He’s near.

Even when you can’t hear Him, He’s speaking.

Even when you can’t see a way out, He’s already preparing the way through.

So if you’re in your own Saturday right now hold on. Don’t give up in the silence. Don’t walk away in the waiting. Don’t bury the promise before it has a chance to rise.

Reflection:

What if your “Saturday” is actually sacred ground? What if this silent season is strengthening you for Sunday’s shout? What if the waiting is not wasted, but working?

Prayer:

Lord, I don’t always understand the silence. I don’t enjoy the waiting. But I choose to trust You even here. I believe You’re still writing my story, even in the quiet chapters. Strengthen my heart as I wait. Help me remember that resurrection always follows the grave.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

Love you,

PJ
