He is at Noland Hospital, which is inside Regional Medical Center in Anniston. We saw him tonight and he was slightly sedated, but able to nod his head and communicate in that method. He was slightly sedated because they’re getting him used to the new environment. They have a lot of things that they want to do on their end to get to know him such as tests and x-rays and bloodwork. As usual, all his numbers and stats look good, and he is barely using any of the ventilator, mostly doing all the work of himself. We got to talk to the lung specialist while we were there who is very positive about his outcome. Said to be patient that it can take a few days even a couple of weeks but that their goal is to get him off the ventilator with different therapies that they use. They did say that at some point they may even take him off of it completely to see how he does on his own even if he doesn’t meet the “parameters”. One of the benefits of being there is that he can have visitors all day and one loved one can stay the night i.e. mom if desired. And the therapist was very positive about his possibility of coming off with them because he came in with no prior lung diseases. This doctor is not interested in talking about a tracheotomy at this time says that we’ve got to give them a chance to do their therapies because they have a better success rate than normal ICU situations.

Sounds good and positive and praying
