A Word from PJ
“When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow. It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it.”
Ecclesiastes 5:5&6 NIV
You gave me your word! Has someone ever given you their word, their commitment to do something for you and then break that commitment? It’s disheartening and frustrating when somebody gives you their word and backs out on what they say. Have you ever done that to someone else?
I want you to go back in your mind to the day that you asked Jesus to come in your heart and become your Savior and Lord. On that day you made a commitment, a commitment to surrender your life to the Lordship of Jesus to honor Him in the way you live your life. I’m guessing like me you have broken that commitment from time to time. God asks us to just keep our word like He always does to us. God always fulfills what He tells us He will. He’s asking the very same from us. Do all you can to keep your word to God and others. Doing so brings honor to God and points people in His direction.
Fulfill your commitment,
PJ

"The Church as the Bride in Ephesians 5:22-33: The Church is called the Bride of Christ and Christ is declared the Head of the Church, His Bride. As individual believers and as the Church we have an intimate relationship with Christ. This is a relationship that is closer than an earthly husband and wife relationship." Many married couples renew their marriage vows recommitting to one another. If we break our commitment to Christ we should willingly recommit our surrender. We are not perfect, only He is.
Amen!
Amen.
